On Being a Teacher Librarian

When I enrolled in this course I though I had a pretty clear idea of the role of the teacher librarian.  After all, I'd occupied that role for quite a few years, finishing up in 2006.  I've also spent about 8 weeks last year filling in for a teacher librarian while he was on long service leave.However, after starting my reading and spending a heap of time on the internet researching, I literally feel like the possibilities for a really exciting and effective school library service are AMAZING!!!! This is so exciting and I can hardly wait to fulfill that role again!

My Formal Qualifications Begin

The journey has begun.  I've enrolled in a Master of Education Teacher Librarianship at CSU and I'm starting two units this semester plus teaching full time. YIKES!!!! I'm feeling like my life as I know it is over and it's all about study and assignments again.  Time for a secret though - I actually enjoy study (don't want to say it too loud 'cause I enjoy people's sympathy when I complain about no longer having a life).  Anyway, the roller coaster is away on its journey and I'm on it, so let's see where this ride goes!
